Module 1: Clinical Evaluation, Application, and Practice

Module 1 integrates EMDR with the theoretical principles and practices of somatic processing therapies. The training is grounded in current research and evidence-based approaches that support clients in processing traumatic experiences. Participants will learn and practice holistic, evidence-based interventions that foster coping skills, affect regulation, and distress tolerance to manage PTSD symptoms and prepare clients for EMDR and Somatic Processing Therapy. In Module 1, participants will also learn how to help clients process “small-t” traumas. This module includes 18 hours of hands-on instruction and practice, and participants must attend all classes and supervision hours before advancing to Module 2 and receiving CEUs.

Module 2: Advanced Clinical Application and Practice

Module 2 integrates EMDR with the theoretical principles and practices of somatic processing therapies. The training is grounded in current research and evidence-based approaches that support clients in processing traumatic experiences. Participants will learn to assess clients for appropriateness for EMDR and Somatic Processing Therapy for “Big T” traumas, as well as how to formulate treatment plans tailored to each client’s needs.

Through case studies, demonstrations, and hands-on practice, participants will apply evidence-based interventions to help clients understand the role of attachment in healthy relationships and to process the impact of domestic violence, narcissistic abuse, and traumatic grief.

Participants will receive 18 hours of hands-on instruction and practice during the three-day training and must attend all sessions and complete required supervision sessions before certification is awarded.

Attachment-Focused EMDR and Somatic Processing Therapy to treat Attachment Trauma

Participants will learn how to integrate Attachment-Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) into clinical practice to help clients heal from relational trauma that often accompanies other traumatic events. Therapists will learn how to facilitate corrective emotional experiences; integrate resources that promote strength, resilience, self-love, and security; and incorporate parts work to support the development of secure attachment.

This two-day training provides 12 hours of hands-on instruction and practice. Participants must have completed Modules 1 and 2 or an equivalent EMDR training program.
